Foodbank
In partnership with the local charity Community Emergency Foodbank (CEF) we run a Foodbank hub twice a week. This provides emergency food parcels for those in crisis and works on a referral basis.
The sessions take place from the Barton Community Church Hub in the base of the Barton Neighbourhood Centre on Mondays and Wednesdays between 12-2pm.
Those who require food need to be referred by a recognised agency such as GPs, Health visitors, clergy, Community Workers, Social Workers or Support Workers.
CEF’s aim is to help people through a time of crisis, so people can be referred 5 times a year without any questions asked. If the need continues, a discussion will be held between the referrer and CEF to try and come up with a workable solution
Where can I get a referral?
Please get in touch with one of the referring agencies listed below for your referral to CEF. Once you have a referral you can come to one of the CEF hubs to collect your food parcel. Please note you will need a new referral each time you come and this is not a long term solution. If you would like help to work out a long-term solution please chat to a Foodbank volunteer when you collect your food.
